Softball: Dayton advances to UCT semifinals following win over Elizabeth

Lila Carroll went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI for fourth-seeded Dayton in its 10-0 win over fifth-seeded Elizabeth in the quarterfinals of the Union County Tournament at home on Monday.

Bella Pintado finished 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for Dayton, which scored four runs in the second inning and six more in the sixth. Natalie Mignone, Olivia Douglas and Kate Buckley drove in two runs each in the victory.

Carroll pitched six shutout innings if three-hit ball with seven strikeouts and three walks. Dayton will play top-seeded Cranford in the semifinals on Wednesday at Kean University at 7:30 PM.
